A Lower-Impact Blowing Agent

Older generations of spray foam relied on blowing agents with a very high global warming potential, which offset a meaningful share of the emissions the insulation went on to save. Boréal uses a low-GWP agent, which substantially reduces the impact of the installation itself. If you are comparing quotes, it is worth asking every contractor which generation of product they are pricing, because the difference is significant and it is not always volunteered.

Spray foam performance depends as much on the installer as the product. The two components must be at the correct temperature and pressure and applied in passes of the right thickness, or the foam will not achieve its rated properties. Our installers are trained and certified on the product we use, and our equipment is maintained and calibrated accordingly.
