Upgrading your attic insulation with our premium spray foam in Ottawa is the first step towards optimal energy efficiency. Say goodbye to those drafty spaces and hello to a cozy attic retreat that keeps conditioned air where it belongs.
Warm air rises, so the ceiling plane is where a house leaks hardest. In most Ottawa homes the attic is also the easiest place to reach and the cheapest surface to treat, which is why it usually gives the fastest payback of any insulation work. The mistake people make is adding more insulation on top of an unsealed ceiling. That warm, moist air keeps passing straight through into the roof space, where it condenses on the cold sheathing.
There are two approaches. In a vented attic we air-seal the ceiling and insulate the floor of the attic, leaving the roof space cold and ventilated. In a sealed assembly we spray the underside of the roof deck itself, bringing the attic inside the building envelope, which suits cathedral ceilings, finished attic rooms and homes with ductwork or air handlers in the attic. Which one is right depends on your roof, so we look before we recommend.
Ice damming at the eaves is a symptom of heat escaping into the roof space, melting snow that then refreezes at the cold overhang. Sealing and insulating the ceiling properly keeps the roof deck cold and largely removes the cause. The same work pays off in July, when an unsealed attic can reach well over 50°C and drive that heat down into the rooms below.
From energy efficiency to structural integrity, spray foam delivers lasting value.
